Player Herrschmidt 3D Animation Short films

12 Years

Herrschmidt did the modeling and blendshapes (of the dachshund), rigging (of both dogs) and 3D animation of the big dog (from 1:13 - 1:53 min). 12 years is a 3D animation short film written and directed by Daniel Nocke and produced at Studio Film Bilder (Germany). It premiered at the Berlinale 2010.

For twelve years she ignored sneers and mockery and stood up for her relationship. But that was probably a mistake.

Our goal for the animation was to reproduce the very subtle human expressions that usually just float across the face for a couple of frames or seconds. It was a lot of fun (and work) to transfer them to the dogs faces. To speed up the process we worked very closely with video references of the voice actors playing their parts. The original version features german language, but only the english version is online.
