*
A sunny afternoon in the garden plot, the family members are getting ready for
the family ritual.
*
Precise Peter is the head of the family. His world is all about
ninety-degree angles, table manners and marching!
He pays close attention that everything around him his horizontally aligned,
including his familiy, his own body and especially his two-year-old son!
*
Precise Peter's wife and her oldest son just go along with Precise Peter.
Their rebellious days are long gone. They know what happens when
the ritual is being disturbed! They just switch their brains off and imitate
him in everything he does.
*
And then there is the little two-year-old son. He is really proud to sit together
with the grown-ups and enthusiastically imitates them. The only problem is that
he is a little bit too enthusiastic and keeps on committing really bad mistakes!
*
When I got started designing the characters, I wanted Precise Peter's orderly nature,
his obsession for straight lines and ninety-degree angles to be reflected in his shape, the forms
of his family and of the whole world.
At the same time the bright saturated colors are more on the side of the
little one. But I think Precise Peter likes them, too. The bright colors
make his world look like paradise and that's the best place to celebrate
his ritual.
Below you can see the most important steps to the final 3D-animation design.
I like to do all the planning and design choices by drawing and
only when I feel that everything is right translate it into 3D. This way of
working has been a great time saver. Hope you enjoy!
